Organise your event on the summer streets dance floor

A wooden dance floor has been built on the pedestrian street section of Korkeavuorenkatu. Located in front of the Design Museum, the dance floor is intended for organising various events involving physical activities, such as dance and yoga practice, or children’s events.

The dance floor is part of the summer streets experiment in the heart of Helsinki. The aim of the summer streets is to make the streets more pleasant and attractive and to improve the variety of services. 

For the time being, the summer streets dance floor is available for residents to book until the end of August. The dance floor can be booked from Monday to Sunday between 9.00 and 21.00. It can be booked for a maximum of six hours at a time and used free of charge. The use of sound systems must be stopped by 21.00 at the latest. You can book the dance floor through Varaamo at varaamo.hel.fi/ by entering “Kesäkatujen tanssilava” (Summer streets dance floor) in the search field.

Rules for using the summer streets dance floor

The dance floor must be used in accordance with the rules of use. The rules ensure that the dance floor does not cause disturbance to local residents and operators.

According to the rules of use, the noise level must remain reasonable and the use of sound systems must be stopped by 21.00. The venue may be attended by a maximum of 200 people at a time, and the events must be free of charge and open to everyone. The event organiser is always responsible for the event.
