Preconstruction of the new Nallenrinne residential area in Malmi is progressing

The preconstruction site is expanding in Malminkenttä, and the work will involve felling trees in the vicinity of the existing snow dump area.

The project involves the preconstruction of new streets named Gustafsberginkatu, Vanha Viipurin maantie, Lepistönkatu and Oskarsberginkatu as well as associated municipal infrastructure in the upcoming residential area in accordance with the local detailed plan. The project also involves street renovation in the area of Valuraudantie and Valuraudankuja.

The work involves some excavation in the vicinity of Gustafsberginkatu. The excavation may cause noise and vibration.

The felling will start in December 2025. 

New homes for 2,800 residents 

Nallenrinne is located in the southern part of Malminkenttä, along Tattariharjuntie. The new residential area will include housing for approximately 2,800 residents, local services and a daycare centre. Nallenrinteenpuisto Park in the northern part of the area will form a part of a network of parks connecting the entire Malminkenttä area. 

Nallenrinne is being developed into a diverse, urban area with good public transport connections.
