The C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group is a global network made up of close to 100 cities. The group of mayors aims to strengthen the role of local leadership in the formation of global climate policy and sharpen the cities’ joint messages on climate work.

At the C40 World Mayor’s Summit 2025, mayors from cities the world over will network and share their best practices for mitigating the climate crisis. A central goal is to add the strong united voice of global cities to the COP30 UN Climate Conference. Helsinki Mayor Daniel Sazonov will speak at several different events about the ambitious climate policies pursued in Finland’s capital.

His schedule also includes several meetings with different city mayors and the leadership of the C40 network. The C40 cities’ mayors have committed to combating climate change: The goal is to limit global warming, so it is in line with the Paris Climate Agreement and to build more sustainable and vibrant cities through global and local programmes.
