Grants are available to all who have studied at the Centre for at least two previous academic years.

The grants can be used to finance courses at folk high schools, summer universities, or foreign educational institutions and course centres. The application period for grants is in April. For more information and application guidelines, please visit the Foundation's website.

The Zachris Castrén Foundation supports and promotes adult education by distributing grants to students of the Helsinki Finnish Adult Education Centre.

The First Director Zachris Castrén Scholarship Fund, which was under the administration of the Helsinki Adult Education Centre Association, was established in 1939. Zachris Castrén gave his consent to the fund's name and donated the initial capital to the fund. Over the years, the fund has received testamentary donations from students.
