Items will be collected in the capital city region from 30 January–10 February 2023. The Helsinki Region Chamber of Commerce is responsible for the campaign’s communications and implementation.
The cities of Helsinki, Espoo and Vantaa are asking companies, organisations and residents to donate new or used but still serviceable generators, aggregators, heat pumps and other heating equipment to their joint collection point in Vantaa. Before donating, however, everyone is asked to first notify the appointed city contact person.
The cities ask that the equipment to be donated be delivered to the collection point in sealed and labelled boxes, ready for transport. A list of donors who have given permission for their names to published will be released on the city’s webpage hel.fi/Ukraine on 24 February 2023, the one-year anniversary of the war’s outbreak.
When the collection period has ended, the campaign will take inventory of all the items donated and send it to an interior ministry specialist, who will approve the shipment and secure the approval of the Ukrainian authorities. After this approval, the items will be delivered from the collection point to Ukraine through the EU's emergency service mechanism, in cooperation with Finland’s National Emergency Supply Agency.
The collection point for donations is located in Vantaa’s Tuupakka district, street address Tuupakantie 10, 01740 Vantaa. It will be open 30 January–10 February 2023, Monday– Thursday 7–15 and Friday 7–13.
