Come and visit the Helsinki's Community Houses to meet new people and take part in different activities and events which are organised by the staff and several different associations. At the Community Houses, you can join free groups and events or just hang around with your friends. Even the Helsingin Sanomat newspaper is daily up for grabs. You are warmly welcome to share your ideas and help plan and organise activities.

Most of the activities are free of charge. The Community House spaces can also be booked for use by associations, organisations, or for private events - in these cases, a booking fee may apply.

In Alppila, there is a living room open to everyone, as well as three bookable rooms: Kalliokiipijä, Lumimyyrä, and Murmeli.

Kalliokiipijä can accommodate around 20 people. It is suitable for activities such as crafts or training sessions. The room has movable tables.

Lumimyyrä can accommodate 10 people around a large table. The room includes a large screen.

Murmeli can accommodate 20 people. It is suitable for activities such as yoga, karaoke, or meetings. The room has an electric piano, a sofa group, and exercise equipment.

Spaces can be booked through the https://varaamo.hel.fi/ website starting from 1 April 2026.
