The equipment will be delivered to Ukraine in March via the EU Civil Protection Mechanism in cooperation with the National Emergency Supply Agency. In this way, the equipment will end up in the right places in Ukraine.
“The cities also donated equipment themselves, but the collection result would not have been nearly as impressive without the other contributors. Every donation will help those in distress in Ukraine, and we warmly thank all those who participated,” says Helsinki Mayor Juhana Vartiainen with Espoo Mayor Jukka Mäkelä and Vantaa Mayor Ritva Viljanen joining in the thanks.
The Helsinki Region Chamber of Commerce supported communications and implementation of the collection.
“The Generators of Hope campaign offered our member companies a good opportunity to do something concrete for the Ukrainian people. I am very pleased with the companies’ willingness to participate in the relief measures,” says CEO Pia Pakarinen.
Helsinki Metropolitan Area donors to Generators of Hope
The parties below have participated in the Generators of Hope collection and given their consent to the publication of their name. In addition to these, there were 27 donors who did not want their names published.
The cities of Helsinki, Espoo and Vantaa thank every donor and the logistics teachers and students at Vantaa Vocational College Varia, who packed the donations for shipment to Ukraine.

Many ways to help Ukrainians
Ukraine and Ukrainians can also be helped by donating through international collections, such as those organised by the following organisations: Red Cross, Unicef, Save the Children Finland, SOS Children’s Villages, Plan International, UN Women, World Vision, Fida, Finn Church Aid and Ukrainian Association in Finland (autaukrainaa.fi). In addition, you can help by volunteering and, for example, by donating clothing and goods.
