Recreational areas and new play equipment for Riskupuisto
The forested areas of Playground Riskupuisto will be kept as they are in the renovation. The central part of the playground will be renovated and restructured so as to create a functional whole for play, recreation and ball games.
The basketball court will be relocated to make room for a new fenced play area. The existing play area will be converted into an area for recreation, exercise and free play for all ages, designed especially with young people in mind.
Exercise opportunities will be provided by the relocated basketball court and gym equipment. In addition to them, the playground will feature trampolines, a carousel and a track painted on the asphalt for cycling, scooter riding and running.
Part of the meadow in the southern part of the playground will be converted into a football pitch. It will be flanked by a garden swing and poles on which residents can attach their own hammocks.
Biodiversity will be increased through the planting of a wide range of plant species. The playground will also gain more bike racks, litter bins and benches.
Shady vegetation and a longer slide for Kipinäpuisto
In Playground Kipinäpuisto, the landscape around the auditorium and the sunny slope will be preserved and existing furniture will be repaired. The visibility from the playground area to the auditorium will be extended by changing the vegetation.
The centre of the playground will be reserved for mini-bikes and a play centre with trampolines, a carousel and a playhouse, among other things. The area will also be extended with a new multi-purpose climbing frame. More trees that provide shade will also be added.
The slide on the slope will be redesigned to be longer and wider. In addition to it, the renovated playground will feature a cable slide and various types of swings. A fenced play area for young children will be built on the eastern side of the playground.
The aim is to preserve all the healthy trees in the playground and as much other vegetation as possible. Biodiversity will be increased through planting.
