As usual, the swimming hall has separate swimming days for women and men on different days of the week. Women’s swimming days are on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Men’s days, on the other hand, are on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. As with before, people can choose whether to wear a swimsuit or swim in the nude in Yrjönkatu Swimming Hall.
In addition to the familiar features, there are some new developments, as the swimming hall’s catering services have been overhauled, and going forward, the gym on the third floor will have time slots for both people aged 64 and over and anyone aged 15 and over.
Uimasalonki opening on the second floor
The services on the second floor of the swimming hall will be upgraded as of autumn 2026 with the opening of Uimasalonki, a new spa restaurant, in the café and restaurant facilities. Uimasalonki is a classic spa restaurant and café that pays homage to the long and distinguished tradition of Yrjönkatu. Its core concept is to combine the atmosphere of 1920s spa culture with a modern, high-quality service experience.
The restaurant is run by a pair of entrepreneurs whose previous achievements include reviving another architectural gem of 1920s Helsinki, Valkoinen Sali. Oona Bondestam and Kristian Perkola are in charge of the menu of Uimasalonki.
Uimasalonki serves seasonal dishes with a Finnish twist to visitors to the swimming hall, without forgetting Yrjönkatu’s most beloved classic products. You can order food and beverages from Uimasalonki to be served at the tables next to the rest cabins.

The gym has time slots for seniors and everyone aged 15 and over
As of autumn 2026, the gym of Yrjönkatu Swimming Hall will have non-instructed time slots not only for seniors, but also for everyone aged 15 and over. The gym is located on the third floor of the building. You can enter the gym via stairwell A. The gym is not connected to the swimming hall proper or its changing rooms, and there is no access from the gym to the swimming hall facilities.
Independent use of the gym requires a Helsinki liikkuu customer card(Link leads to external service). You cannot access the gym with a single-visit ticket for the first or second floor of Yrjönkatu Swimming Hall.
The gym features high-quality gym equipment for strength and endurance training. The gym equipment, warm-up machines and free weights provide a comprehensive range of fitness tools.
The gym has separate dressing rooms for men and women. The changing rooms are equipped with lockers that can be locked with a key. The shower facilities are located on the third floor.

Advance tickets and facilities for rent
You can ensure access to the second floor of the swimming hall by buying an advance ticket. You can buy advance tickets up to three weeks before your desired date. Yrjönkatu Swimming Hall also has two private saunas and a meeting room available for renting. The facilities are reserved and paid for via the Varaamo online reservation service.
