In Helsinki, you can cross-country ski very early in the autumn, as the Kivikko ski hall (Savikiekontie 4) opens on Monday, 3 October 2022 at 7:00.

Due to the rapid increase in electricity and energy prices, the City of Helsinki is making concrete energy-saving efforts. The Kivikko ski hall will be opened this year, as there are, for example, existing cooperation agreements with tenants, the series cards sold for the ski hall last season are still valid, and the ski track snow for the hall have already been stored in the building last spring, before the sharp spike in energy prices. However, as part of the City of Helsinki’s energy-saving measures, the Kivikko ski hall will probably no longer be opened in autumn 2023. The Kivikko hall series cards purchased during this cross-country skiing season will be valid until 5 February 2023, after which the hall will be closed.
