Sports clubs and organisations interact with increasingly diverse groups of people as part of their daily operations. What special characteristics does a diversifying exercise culture bring with it? Answers to this and other related questions will be provided in the free diversity training sessions centred around the theme ‘The power of diversity – towards more sustainable and accessible club activities in Helsinki’ that the City of Helsinki is organising to take place in February and March. The instructors will be experts from the Three Campus Sports Institute.
The training sessions will take a practical approach to how cultural diversity, language awareness, equality and responsibility can be made visible and effective in the field of exercise and sport. The training sessions will provide more understanding, new perspectives and practical tools for interacting with diverse customer groups. They will give you concrete tools and ideas for increasing your own know-how and developing your club activities.
The training sessions are intended for coaches, instructors, employees and other people involved in the activities of clubs, associations and other operators in Helsinki. Each training session will consist of a theory section and practical exercises. The theory section at the beginning can also be attended remotely. The theory section will last roughly 1–1.5 h.
You can sign up for one, several or all of the training sessions, depending on your interests and schedule.
