The rescue services were alerted and the swimming hall was emptied of customers. The smell of smoke is suspected to have come from the flue of the second-floor wood-heated sauna.
The second-floor wood-heated sauna is temporarily closed so that we can ensure its use is completely safe. We will inform the public as soon as the sauna in question can be reopened. Yrjönkatu Swimming Hall has two saunas on the first floor: a hot sauna and a milder sauna. On the second floor, there are three main saunas: a wood-heated sauna (temporarily closed), an infrared sauna, and a steam sauna. In addition, the swimming hall offers separately bookable private saunas, such as the sauna in the Mannerheim Suite, as well as a dedicated private sauna section on the fourth floor.
With the exception of the second-floor wood-heated sauna, all other facilities and services at Yrjönkatu Swimming Hall are operating normally.
