Svante Olssonin puistokuja running through the park in the east-west direction will be closed for water pipe replacement work. A temporary route for pedestrians and cyclists has been built alongside the botanical gardens. The temporary route will be in use for the rest of the year.
At the same time, construction will also begin in the park area between the Baana cycle path and the track near the elk statue. The playground south of Kaisaniemi field will be closed on 10 November. It will be replaced by a new playground by the end of 2026.
The construction of the Baana cycle path at Kaisaniemenpuisto park has progressed faster than expected, and it will be opened to cyclists ahead of schedule in the afternoon on Friday 7 November.
