The customer and patient information system Apotti was introduced to the City of Helsinki's disability services last night. The introduction concerns about 800 disability services workers. The majority of Helsinki's social and health services, including the outpatient clinic for the intellectually disabled, switched to the Apotti system as early as in April.

For customers, the introduction of Apotti will be seen at the start as a temporary slowdown in services.

“The benefits of the new system will begin to show once the system is up and running. Apotti will improve customer and patient security and harmonize operating methods”, comments Director of Health and Substance Abuse Services Leena Turpeinen.

Employees ready for the change

The employees have been trained to use the new system during the spring. 133 Apotti support staff for disability services have received more in-depth training and are helping their colleagues to use the new system.

“We have prepared for the challenges and we expect the system to bring improvements to our daily work”, says Director of services for the disabled Katja Raita.

Last introduction in November

The third and final introduction of Apotti will take place in November, whereby the Apotti system will be put into use by social services for the working-age population, child welfare and social services for families with children.

After November 2021, the entire Social Services and Health Care Division will be using the same customer and patient information system.
