In Helsinki, 12-year-olds and older have been vaccinated in schools this week. Vaccinations have gone well and close to 70 percent of 12-15-year-olds have already been vaccinated.

Vaccinations will continue in schools on Monday 23 August. 12-15-year-olds can also be vaccinated without an appointment at the vaccination points in Helsinki, which are located in Jätkäsaari, Malmi, Messukeskus and Myllypuro. They can also be vaccinated at pop-up vaccination points.

“It’s really great that schoolchildren have been actively taking vaccinations. I further encourage those who are still considering taking the vaccine to receive it. It will be possible without an appointment, even during the next day. We have also compiled material on our website to support the consideration for those who have not yet been vaccinated”, says Timo Lukkarinen, Medical Director of Health Stations.

The first dose of COVID-19 vaccination can be obtained from the vaccination points or pop-up points without an appointment.

Vaccinations without appointments on a walk-in principle have been popular. Last week, for example, just under 2,000 people were vaccinated without an appointment.

“We will continue to strive to make getting a COVID-19 vaccination easy and effortless. Once the school vaccinations are completed, we will increase the number of pop-up points”, says Lukkarinen.
