Helsinki benefit

The Helsinki benefit is a discretionary financial support granted by the City of Helsinki to support the hiring of an unemployed Helsinki resident. We can grant the benefit to a private or third-sector employer that hires an unemployed Helsinki resident. You can tell your employer about the possibility of applying for the Helsinki benefit.

You can utilise the Helsinki benefit if you are a jobseeker and a resident of Helsinki, you have been unemployed for a minimum of 3 months, and your need for the Helsinki benefit has been evaluated by the Employment Services. The Helsinki benefit cannot be granted together with a pay subsidy or an employment subsidy for ages 55 and above for the same employment relationship.

Your contact person at the Employment Services can issue you a Helsinki benefit card if you are eligible for the benefit.
