The Helsinki benefit is a support from the City of Helsinki that encourages employers to hire unemployed Helsinki residents. The employer can apply for the benefit if they hire you.
Employers in the private sector and the third sector can apply for the benefit.
You can use the Helsinki benefit in your job search if you
- are a jobseeker and a resident of Helsinki
- have been unemployed for at least 3 months
- have had your service need assessed by the Employment Services, and the assessment shows that the Helsinki benefit can support your employment
The Helsinki benefit cannot be granted for the same employment relationship as a pay subsidy or an employment subsidy for people aged 55 or over.
If you are eligible for the Helsinki benefit, your contact person at the Employment Services will give you a Helsinki benefit card. You can show the card to the employer during your job search.
