Visiting times restricted in Helsinki City Hospital

The visiting times are being restricted due to the COVID-19 situation

Starting from Thursday 23 December, visits by family and friends to patients treated in Helsinki City Hospital can last 30 minutes, at the maximum. The visiting times are being restricted due to the COVID-19 situation. Please agree on all visits in advance with the hospital staff.

“It is essential that visitors follow the precautionary instructions. You may only come for a visit when you are feeling well. During the visit, you need to wear a surgical mask, maintain safe distances from other people and take care of your hand hygiene,” points out Laura Pikkarainen, Medical Director of Helsinki City Hospital.

A patient can have one or two visitors at the same time. Two visits per patient are allowed per day.

“Visits are a key part of patients’ wellbeing. By shortening the visiting times, we can practise social distancing at the hospital wards while still allowing visits,” says Pikkarainen.
