‘We have received requests from city residents to make returning assistive devices easier. The new drop-off point is in Myllypuro along good transport connections, and the opening hours are long. The machine itself is similar to the parcel machines you can find in stores, for example,’ says Eva Englund, Senior Rehabilitation Planner.
The machine is easy to use and provides instructions on how to return your assistive device.
‘To use the machine, you must have a mobile phone with you. You will enter your phone number into the machine, and the machine will send a return code to your phone. You will also receive a receipt for the return by phone,’ Englund says.
You can receive guidance on how to use the new drop-off point on the first day 5 February at 10-13.
The drop-off point for assistive devices coming to Myllypuro is the first in the city. The next drop-off point will be opened at Kallio Family Centre in spring 2024.
In addition to the drop-off point, assistive devices can be returned to Konala or via the assistive device services’ mobile unit
In addition to the new drop-off point, assistive devices can be returned to Konala on Mondays and Tuesdays between 8 and 16, on Wednesdays and Thursdays between 9 and 17, and on Fridays between 10 and 14. Assistive devices can also be returned via the assistive device services’ mobile unit. The mobile unit serves on Tuesdays from 9.30 to 11.30 at Kontula Senior Centre and from 13.00 to 15.00 at Kustaankartano Senior Centre. Assistive devices can only be borrowed from Konala.
