Preparations for the second phase of the renovation of the side streets of Mannerheimintie will start in autumn 2023. Preparatory work will start with the replacement of water management elements. At the same time, the necessary surface and cable work will be carried out.
The water management and other municipal infrastructure on the side streets between Runeberginkatu and Reijolankatu will be replaced before the second phase of the Mannerheimintie renovation, which will start in autumn 2024.
Access to properties maintained, noise known about
The preparatory work on the side streets will not affect traffic on Mannerheimintie or the running of trams. There will be deviations in traffic arrangements on the side streets for the duration of the work. These will be explained in more detail nearer the time.
Access to all properties will be maintained during the works, but on-street parking will be withdrawn. Noise-generating work, such as possible rock excavation, will be carried out on the side streets.
Second phase of the Mannerheimintie renovation to start in autumn 2024
The preparatory construction of the side streets will enable the main street, Mannerheimintie, to be renovated continuously and efficiently in the second phase, starting in autumn 2024.
The overall renovation of Mannerheimintie will be completed by the end of 2025.
Preliminary schedule for the side streets:
- Paavo Nurmen tie September – end of 2023
- Toivonkatu autumn – end of 2023
- Sallinkatu, Savilankatu, Ruusankatu – at the beginning of and during spring 2024
- Other side streets and intersections (e.g. Eino Leinon katu, Humalistonkatu, Sibeliuksenkatu) – at the same time as the renovation of Mannerheimintie between Runeberginkatu and Reijolankatu (from autumn 2024)
