The City aims to organise a competitive tendering procedure to select the taxi service providers that will be allowed to operate at the Asema-aukio Square taxi rank.

“Unfortunately the current situation at the Asema-aukio Square taxi rank is not in the best interest of city residents, tourists or service providers. Deceptive activities that erode people’s trust cannot be allowed to continue. The place is in urgent need of harmony, clarity and the restoration of trust. This message has been promoted by many councillor as well,” says Mayor Vartiainen.

The mayor has set a deadline of late winter 2024 for an overall solution to the issue.
