Karhupuisto summer flower planting event on 6 June

This summer, Kallio will once again be brimming with flowers as more than 2,500 seedlings are planted in Karhupuisto. City residents also get to lend their hand with the planting in an event set up for the purpose. The planting event will take place on Tuesday, 6 June 2023 starting at 15.00. Please be sure to arrive on time – the event lasts until all the seedlings have been planted.

The event is open to all and suitable for the whole family. In addition to flower planting, the programme also includes music. Snacks and drinks will also be served.

Stara gardeners will guide you through the planting process, so no previous flower planting experience is required. The city will borrow the planting tools. Gloves are also available, but please bring your own pair if you have them.

There is no registration for the event, you can simply turn up. Join us in planting the finest summer flower garden in Helsinki!

The City of Helsinki Urban Environment Division organises the planting event together with Stara, Kallio cultural network and Kallio parish. The traditional Karhupuisto planting event has been organised since 1997.
