Starting from October, Kannelmäki Health Station will provide services at a new address next to the Kaari shopping centre. The service provider will be Terveystalo. In the same connection, Helsinki will establish a completely new health station in Ruoholahti. These services will be produced by Mehiläinen.

“The reform aims to improve accessibility to non-emergency care and to increase health station services of Helsinki residents,” says Leena Turpeinen, Director of Health and Substance Abuse Services at the City of Helsinki. The current number of personnel at the city’s health stations will not be reduced.

“The experiment allows us to learn from the operations of the private service providers and build solid cooperation and partnership with them,” says Turpeinen.

“The new health stations will offer the same health services as the other health stations in Helsinki. Clients of these health stations will remain clients of the Helsinki health stations,” says Timo Lukkarinen, Medical Director of Health Stations.
Changing health stations is possible just as before. There will be no changes to the client fees, for example, there will be no charge for a doctor or nurse’s appointment.

Both new health stations will be open on weekdays 8–16. In addition, the health stations will offer appointments in the evenings and on Saturdays.

The new Kannelmäki Health Station will operate at Laulukuja 4 and serve the same clients as the old Kannelmäki Health Station to be closed down. The telephone number remains unchanged 09 310 47355.

“We value this opportunity to develop primary healthcare in Kannelmäki together with the City of Helsinki. Our extensive experience in the service production of public health stations has taught us that the best result is achieved by genuine cooperation and by listening to the clients using the services and the professionals working at the health station,” says Mikko Tainio, Director of Public Services at Terveystalo.

Starting from October, Ruoholahti Health Station’s clients will include the residents of Ruoholahti and Jätkäsaari and some of the residents of the Hietalahti area. The address of Ruoholahti Health Station is Tallberginkatu 2 and telephone number 09 310 47366. A street list of the client area of the new health station is available on the health station’s website.

“We are excited about the growing partnership with the City of Helsinki. Our goal is to offer high-quality, effective and client-oriented health services in Ruoholahti. With the help of the new teamwork model, we strive for good service availability,” says Joonas Turunen, Director of Primary Healthcare at Mehiläinen.

Clients of Kannelmäki and Ruoholahti health stations do not need to contact the health stations due to the change. Next time healthcare services are needed, communication with the new health station will take place in the usual way by calling, using electronic services or coming to the health station in person.
