The ‘Everything Circulates’ event will be held at Cultural Centre Stoa on 21 May from 14.00 to 18.00. The City’s different circular economy operators and partners present themselves, host workshops and other activities and share information about sustainable daily life.

The event offers visitors advice on topics such as how to prolong the life cycle of their interior textiles, maintain their bicycle and clean their sneakers. Visitors will also get to enjoy circular economy fashion shows, the ‘From a T-shirt to a Summer Scarf’ workshop, a workshop for altering a piece of clothing or a fabric bag with recycled plastic and a jewellery workshop. They can also try their hand at making a Japanese-style recycled scrubbing brush.

The event has a trading point for clothes and seedlings. The Stoa Plaza also features a flea market where vendors can sell their own products, organised together with vocational colleges Spesia, Live and Luovi.

The event’s panel discussion on the themes of sustainable everyday life and influencing will include podcast host Jenni Rotonen, environmental influencer Ami Värtö and Teemu Oinio, aka Roskapäivä-Eino.

You can get your exercise on at Stoa with a game of poop basketball – a game on sewer etiquette where participants toss a range of waste and droppings into their correct recycling containers.

The event’s music is provided by Yalla Collective.

A more detailed event programme is attached. It also includes the instructions for the trading points of clothes and seedlings and for booking a vendor table at the flea market.

The event is organised by the City of Helsinki in collaboration with the Helsinki Region Environmental Services Authority HSY, Cleanit Sneaker, Muoviamo and Junior Chamber International Central Park.

One of the key areas of the Helsinki city strategy is ambitious environmental responsibility and nature protection. Circular and sharing economy is one important method for promoting these goals. The extensive City of Helsinki’s Action plan  for Circular and Sharing Economy was completed in 2023. The priorities of this action plan are construction, procurement, and environmental awareness and sustainable consumption.
