In the survey, you can provide information about your everyday life and your experiences of wellbeing by marking locations on a map and share your experiences of your home environment, important everyday places and the routes that you use, for example. After all, who better to provide information on how a living environment works than the people who actually live there? That is why residents’ views are important for the city’s development.
The findings will be used in the City’s practical planning work and in research examining the accessibility of basic public services, the pleasantness and community cohesion of neighbourhoods and the impacts of different environments on wellbeing, for example. By responding to the survey, you can therefore have a say in how Helsinki will be developed in the future.
Respond to the survey and enter the prize draw
After responding to the survey, you also have the option of entering a prize draw. Respondents who provide their contact details will be entered into a prize draw for a chance to win a €600 gift voucher for a bicycle shop or one of four Museum Cards worth €86 each.
The survey is being carried out by the City of Helsinki and Aalto University. The data collection will take place in two stages in May–August 2026. In the first stage, Aalto University sent out invitation letters to randomly selected Helsinki residents. In this second stage, the survey is open to all Helsinki residents between the ages of 18 and 80.
