Digital health surveys introduced in student health care

Digital health surveys have been introduced in general upper secondary schools and vocational institutions throughout Finland in August. Responding to the surveys requires strong identification, meaning a mobile certificate or online banking credentials.

From this autumn onwards, new upper secondary students will be asked by student health care to complete a digital health survey. Based on the answers, the survey assesses individually when it is advisable for a student to attend a health check-up.

Students under the age of 18 receive an invitation to a health check during their first or second year of study. In the case of adult students, only those who are identified as requiring a health check on the basis of the survey are invited to attend one.

Responding to the survey requires strong identification

You will receive a direct link to the health survey and instructions on how to respond to it from student health care. The survey is conducted on the Omaolo website, which you can log in to using a mobile certificate or online banking credentials. Your survey responses will be forwarded to your school nurse.

Please only respond to the survey that you receive from student health care. Do not click on any links if you are unsure who sent them. If you are unable to respond to the digital survey, you can obtain alternative instructions from your educational institution’s student health care.

Student health care and call-up medical checks being merged

From 2027 onwards, the medical checks of upper secondary students carried out by student health care will also include the health checks conducted before conscription call-ups. The new digital health survey also replaces the Finnish Defence Forces’ pre-call-up health survey.
