Helsinki will keep the day activities and supported group activities for the elderly closed until 28 February 2022. The day activities and supported group activities for the elderly have been closed since 31 December 2021 due to the intensification of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The service centres’ client helplines serve clients and their loved ones normally. Clients will be informed of the exact opening times of the services as soon as they are known.

“The coronavirus situation in Helsinki has deteriorated rapidly and requires us to take action. Unfortunately, we will have to continue to keep both day and group activities and service centres closed at least until the end of February. However, customer service is available from the service centres by phone, and we aim to find ways to maintain contact with the clients of day and group activities who need support the most,” says Seija Meripaasi, Director of Hospital, Rehabilitation and Care Services.

The staff of day activities and group activities will contact the clients who need support the most separately.

Information on the coronavirus situation is available on the City of Helsinki’s coronavirus website.
