Antti Leino, 35, and Teresa Salminen, 28, will serve as the senior political advisers of Mayor Juhana Vartiainen. Senior advisors called to their duties are part of the City of Helsinki Executive Office’s personnel.
Antti Leino holds a Master of Science degree from the London School of Economics and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Newcastle. Before taking on his political advisor duties, Leino worked as the Head of Public Affairs at YTY Association for Managers and Professionals. In his current role, Leino will assist the Mayor with matters related to political decision-making, in particular, and will also act as the Head of Cabinet.
Teresa Salminen has a master’s degree in Social Sciences from Tampere University. Salminen previously worked as a Special Advisor of Mayor Jan Vapaavuori 17 May–2 August 2021. Before this, Salminen worked in the role of Communications Specialist at the Association of Finnish Local and Regional Authorities. In her work, Salminen will continue to focus on assisting the Mayor in matters related to public communications.
Both started in their roles as Vartiainen’s senior political advisors on 3 August 2021.
