Yrjönkatu Swimming Hall building

The Yrjönkatu Swimming Hall building has a total of six floors. The swimming hall and pool proper are located on the first floor. The second floor with its services is also part of the public swimming hall. There is a separate entrance fee for the second floor.

Services of the swimming hall are also provided on floors 3–6, which are accessed via a designated stairwell as opposed to the main entrance of the swimming hall. The third floor features a small swimming pool where the City holds water exercise courses. The fourth floor features a reservable private sauna, the fifth floor features leased office facilities, and the sixth floor features a group exercise room.

In connection with the completion of the renovation of Yrjönkatu Swimming Hall in 2026, the new public and permanent artwork “Water Bodies” was presented. The work, consisting of six glass pieces, is installed in the wall along the entrance corridor of the swimming hall and was created by photographic artist Noora Sandgren.

Accessibility

The first floor of Yrjönkatu Swimming Hall is partly difficult to get around in, as the locker and cabin corridors are separated from the swimming pool area with half stairs (one or two steps).

The accessibility of the second-floor facilities was improved in a recently completed renovation project, which included the construction of an accessible dressing and shower area. The accessibility of the saunas on the second floor has also been improved: for example, the wood-heated sauna now has an air circulator that spreads the steam over the lowest benches as well.

We recommend asking the staff for more detailed information on accessibility.
