Shaded trail

Shaded trail is a marked ring trail in the Haltiala nature reserve. Along the trail, there are six information signs about nature and three rest areas with benches. The route is mostly easy, but not fully accessible.

The 2.4 km long Shaded trail is marked on the terrain with orange diamond-shaped symbols. From the Paloheinä hiking lodge, it is a few hundred meters to the western starting point of the trail, where there is a map sign and stairs leading to the path.

The outdoor trail

  • There are parking spaces marked as accessible in the parking area, but no information board. The starting point of the nature walk is more than 200 m away. The parking area is asphalted.
  • 60 meters from the parking area there is an accessible toilet in a separate building.
  • The pick-up and drop-off area is located over 200 m from the starting point of the nature walk.
  • The nature walk is partly one-way, partly circular. The length of the route is about 2 km.
  • There are 6 information boards along the nature walk.
  • There are signposts at central crossroads of the route. The route is marked with a logo or sign affixed to the trees.
  • The nature walk is partly soft and uneven. The surface of the passageway is in part fine crushed rock, gravel, stones and roots, boardwalk (planks across).
  • The route is wide all the way, but otherwise not suitable for wheelchairs or strollers.
  • The route has steep hills, the largest of which has 10 meters or more height difference from bottom to top (steepest angle of ascent 19 %).
  • . The longest stairs have more than 10 steps, with handrails on left side when going up.
  • Next to the passage, there is at least one level difference causing a fall hazard, which is not bound by railings.
  • Along the nature walk, there are and a rest stop with benches for taking a break. The benches are sized for adults.
