Weighted curriculum education

Our school in the Käpylä district is a comprehensive school that provides all grades from 1 to 9. From grade 7 onwards, pupils can choose a special emphasis in home economics or physical education. The language of instruction in our school is Finnish.
Application period for free places in bilingual Finnish-Swedish education 5.5–27.7.2025
Apply and learn more on the city website: Applying to bilingual education: Grades 1–9, Supplementary Admission 5 May-27 July 2025.
You can apply in the supplementary application round for Grades 1 and 7 only if you have moved to Helsinki after January 2025. For other grades (2 to 6 and 8 to 9), anyone can apply.
Once you have submitted the electronic Wilma-application form, you will receive a confirmation email. We will later send you an invitation to the language test by email.

We have free places to bilingual Finnish-Swedish education as follows:
1 place in Class 2
Language tests on Friday 1 August at the school
For Grades 2 to 9 an applicant must always take a language test. For Grade 1 there is no language test as the places will be drawn by lottery.
The language test to Finnish-Swedish education will be held at Käpylän peruskoulu on Friday 1 August at Mäkelänkatu 89. We will notify you of the test details when we contact you.
Pupil admission decisions
We will send the information about the admission decisions by secure email on Tuesday 5.8.
