Playground Etupelto is located in a lush green residential area in the middle of the Itä-Pakila district.
The playground is a place where families with babies and children can play, exercise and meet each other around the year either indoors or outdoors. In addition to sandboxes, swings and various climbing frames, playground features:
- Separate fenced yard for small children
- Ice rink (in winter)
- Paddling pool (in summer)
- Playing field with football goals on a sand bed
- Ping pong table
- Floorball goals and equipment
- Waterplay area with showers, pumps etc. (in summer)
- Baby changing table
Families with babies and children can meet other families at playgrounds, while children can find new friends to play with. Diverse and free-of-charge guided activities are organised at playgrounds in the mornings.
You can heat your own food and make coffee and tea at the playground. Our activities are free of charge and based on Helsinki's curriculum for early childhood education and care.

The route to the playground area
- There are no accessible parking spaces near the playground. The nearest parking area is within 20 metres.
- The pick-up and drop-off area is located under 20 meters from the playground gate.
- A smooth and sufficiently wide asphalted route leads to the playground gate.
Playground area
- The playground has an information board that can be accessed by a wheelchair.
- The playground has benches with free space at the end for a wheelchair or stroller.
- The playground has swings, a slide, a sandbox, a wading pool.
- The swings: The swings are situated at the edge of the areaSafety sand has been installed under the swings. The play area also has .
- The slide: There is space for a wheelchair around the slide. .Safety sand has been installed under the slide. The slide can be accessed along the stairs.
- The sandbox: The edge of the sandbox is too low for wheelchair access.
- The raised edge of the wading pool makes it wheelchair accessible, however the edge is uncomfortably high. The bottom of the wading pool is smooth.
Playground building
- The entrance of the playground building stands out clearly and is illuminated. There is a canopy above the entrance.
- The doors connected to the entrance stand out clearly and the glass doors have contrast markings. Outside the door there is sufficient room for moving e.g. with a wheelchair. The door is heavy or otherwise hard to open.
- The activities take place on the entrance floor.
- The doors in the facility stand out clearly.
- The facility has a toilet marked as accessible. The toilet seat lacks arm supports on one or both sides.
