Both the telephone service and walk-in clinic will be accessible without an appointment and operate Monday–Friday from 8.30–15.30. For the telephone service, call +358 9 310 42900. You can register for the walk-in clinic at the 1st floor registration kiosk.

All Helsinki residents over the age of 18 may contact these services for a client relationship with substance abuse services. The telephone service gives clients and their family members guidance and advice on various addictions and their treatment needs are assessed. A referral is not required.

You can come to the walk-in clinic if you need detoxification treatment or help in other acute matters related to substance abuse or if you are not able to contact the telephone service.

You can also seek a client relationship with substance abuse services through our Startti information sessions, exclusively held every week from 1 September at the Kalasatama Health and Well-being Centre. The Startti information sessions give basic information on substance abuse services, addiction and recovery. You can participate anonymously.

“The goal of the reform is to facilitate, streamline and harmonise Helsinki residents’ access to substance abuse services and treatment. It’s great that we now have a low-threshold substance abuse service available without appointments, open on weekdays throughout office hours,” says Pia Pulkkinen, Head of Substance Abuse Services at the City of Helsinki.

The walk-in clinics that served for a couple of hours a day at the Laakso, Malmi and Vuosaari substance abuse clinics will close at the beginning of September.
