How to receive letters and messages digitally
If you are using the Maisa client portal(Link leads to external service) , follow these steps:
- In the settings, select "Post" to turn off.
- If you're using the Maisa app: select Account settings > Notifications > Communication options. At the same time, turn on push notifications: then you will be notified when you receive new messages and you will not accidentally miss them.
- If you're using Maisa through a browser: Select Account settings > Notifications > General.
After this, you will only receive all messages and letters related to your treatment and services digitally in Maisa, and they will no longer be sent to you by paper mail.
If you leave the "Post" option enabled in Maisa, we will first check whether you are using a digital mail service before sending you any paper mail. On 12 January 2026, we will introduce Suomi.fi Messages in Helsinki's health and social services as a new digital mail service, alongside the already existing Omaposti and Kivra.
If you use one of these digital mail services (Suomi.fi Messages, Omaposti or Kivra), you will no longer receive letters from us in paper form. Check which digital mail services you have in use and monitor them regularly to see when new messages arrive.
This is how you will continue to receive letters by paper mail
If you want to continue to receive messages and letters related to your treatment and services as paper mail, keep the "Post" option enabled in Maisa and do not use other digital mail services (Suomi.fi Messages, Omaposti, Kivra).
If you are already using a digital mail service (Suomi.fi Messages, Omaposti or Kivra) and want to stop using it, do so in the settings of the service. After that, you will receive your message by paper mail again.
