New Heka subsidized housing coming to Tapanila and Mellunmäki

Two new Heka buildings with subsidized housing will be completed in Tapanila and Mellunmäki. The application period for the new apartments will begins in early June.

New housing in Tapanila in a completely new residential neighborhood

The new buildings in Tapanila will be at Smoltinkaari 1. The estimated completion time will be 29 August.

The application period will begin on 3 June. You can apply for the apartments by filling a housing application form. If you already have a valid application, you can add apartments by editing the application. You can find information on the apartments on our marketing site. The tenant selection will begin on 17 June at the earliest.

The location will have 97 apartments from 31 square meter one-room apartments to over 90 square meter four-room apartments. Every apartment has a glazed balcony, and they include a storage space. The kitchens have an induction range, a fridge-freezer and a dishwasher. The apartments are designed to be accessible. The rent includes broadband internet. Pets are allowed in Heka apartments.

The tenants can use shared laundry spaces, club rooms, saunas and various storage spaces. There are 33 car parking spots available in the communal garage of the housing block. Bicycle parking is available in the yard, next to entrances and in the storage spaces.

Tapanila railway stop is around 200 metres from the location. Services are available locally within a walking distance and more extensively in Malmi about 2 kilometers away. Walking trails are close to the location.

The Mellunmäki location is completed in two phases

There are two buildings in the new location at Saariseläntie 1, one of which is completed in August at the address Saariseläntie 7. The estimated completion of the building is on 28 August.

The application period for the first building will begin on 10 June. You can apply for the apartments by filling a housing application form. If you already have a valid application, you can add apartments by editing the application. You can find information on the apartments on our marketing site. Please note that the name of the location will be Saariseläntie 1 even though the building that is completed in august is located in Saariseläntie 7. The tenant selection will begin on 24 June at the earliest.

The first building will have 35 apartments. There are different size apartments from 30 square meter one-room apartments to 89 square meter four room apartments. The apartments will have either a glazed balcony or a French balcony, and they include storage space. The kitchens include an induction range, fridge-freezer and a dishwasher. Some apartments have a walk-in closet, and the largest apartments have a separate WC in addition to the bathroom.

The tenants can use the communal laundry room, drying room, sauna, club room and storage spaces. There are car parking spots available in the local garage. Bicycle parking is available in the yard and in storage spaces. The rent includes broadband internet. Pets are available in Heka apartments.

The location has a playground and a park close by. Mellunmäki metro station is located under a kilometer away, and multiple bus lines can be taken from the nearby Mellunmäentie. Local services are located near the metro station, and the area has great outdoor spaces for activities.

Did you know this about living in a Heka apartment?

  • Heka does not charge a security deposit from residents.
  • Heka’s lease agreements are valid until further notice. The period of notice of the lease agreements for residents is one calendar month.

How to apply for an apartment in a new Heka building

If you already have a valid housing application, you can add new apartments to your application by editing your application during the application period. One third of new apartments are reserved for Heka residents who want to change apartments.

Please note that Heka tenant selection uses income limits according to a government ruling which came to effect in the beginning of 2025. The income limits are used both for new tenants and those changing from one Heka apartment to another.
