Helsinki citizens are encouraged to get vaccinated with the help of text messages and phone calls. In addition, people over 18 years of age can now get vaccinated at any vaccination point without appointment. There are no queues.

Helsinki citizens with a third vaccination appointment booked for February have received a text message informing them of the possibility to bring forward their vaccination appointment.

“We want to offer them the opportunity to bring forward their vaccination appointment, because we were not able to provide a third vaccination appointment quickly enough for all those interested. Now we have enough vaccinators,” says Timo Lukkarinen, Medical Director of Health Stations.

Some people got the text message, even though they had already had all vaccines. This may have happened if the appoint was brought forward before the message was sent.

Personal phone calls to people over the age of 60 who have been vaccinated twice

Helsinki has contacted by telephone citizens over the age of 60, who have not yet made an appointment for their third vaccination.

“We want to make sure over the phone that they do not have problems with making an appointment or that they do not have problems, for example, with getting to the vaccination point,” Lukkarinen continues.

Text messages to those without vaccine protection

A text message will also be sent to those Helsinki citizens who are age 18 and older and who are not known to have vaccine protection against coronavirus. Helsinki and Espoo have been preparing this matter in collaboration.

The text message informs these people that now it is easy to get vaccinated without appointment at any vaccination point or at any of the pop-up vaccination points located throughout the city.

There are pop-up vaccination points in shopping centres Itis, Kamppi and Mall of Tripla. The opening hours of the vaccination points and pop-up points can be found on the city’s website.

In Helsinki, people have been encouraged to get vaccinated also with the help of outdoor advertising and social media campaigns.
