HLK After-School Club - active, safe and fun afternoons
HLK's after-school club for grades 1-2 offers engaging, supervised activities in the excellent facilities of Meilahti Sports Center.
The club runs on all school days from 12:00 to 17:00, with pick-up from Meilahti Primary School and The English School.
Our afternoons are all about movement, fun, and togetherness. Children enjoy a variety of sports (tennis, floorball, football and more), they can complete their homework, do crafts, play outdoors, and have a healthy snack.
We make full use of the sports center and nearby park.
Children can also join HLK tennis lessons during the afternoon!
Our goal is simple: When you pick up your child, they've been active, finished their homework, spent time with friends and go home happy and pleasantly tired.
Price: €100 (until 16:00) / €120 (until 17:00)

Location
The route to the main entrance
- The pick-up and drop-off area is located in the vicinity of the entrance, giving easy access to the pavement.
- The route to the entrance is smooth and sufficiently wide and illuminated.

The main entrance
- The entrance stands out clearly and is illuminated. There is a canopy above the entrance.
- The doors connected to the entrance stand out clearly. Outside the door there is sufficient room for moving e.g. with a wheelchair. The door opens easily manually.
In the facility
- The sports facilities have two floors.
- For moving around, there is a lift, which can hold 2 wheelchairs,; the door opens easily manually. The floor numbers in the lift can be felt with fingers. The button for the exit floor stands out from the other buttons. (The minimum dimensions for a stretcher in a lift are width 1.2 m and depth 2.3 m.)
- The service point has directions to the different facilities.
- The facility has an accessible toilet on the entrance floor.
- The customer service/cashier's desk is located on the entrance floor.

Dressing room, shower room and sauna
- The dressing rooms are located on floor -1.

- The facility does not have an accessible dressing room. The men's/women's dressing rooms must be used instead. The door of the dressing room opens easily manually and the doorway has a low threshold.
- The dressing room has sufficient room for a wheelchair and assistant. There are lockers in the dressing room.
- The shower room is connected to the men's/women's dressing room. The door of the shower room opens easily manually.
- The sauna is connected to the men's/women's dressing room. The door opens easily manually.
- The sauna has room for one wheelchair.
Sports facilities
- In the multipurpose sports facility, you can engage in sports such as aerobics, badminton, boxing, dancing, floorball, football, goalball, gym exercise, handball, running, table tennis, tennis, volleyball, yoga.
- The sides of some sports areas/fields have room for storing aids.
- The height of the passageways in the multi-purpose arena is appropriate. There are pillars that pose a risk of collision, and they do not stand out from the other surfaces through luminance contrast. There are not enough wall sockets, but they are on a suitable height (0.4–1.1 meters). The alarm system (fire alarm) works with a sound signal.
