Restrictions on visits at senior centres, service houses and hospitals will be eased as of 18 June.

”The coronavirus situation in Helsinki has improved and we have gone back to the acceleration phase. Because of this, we can ease restrictions on visits. However, we cannot remove all the restrictions at once. Instead, they are being eased gradually. We are closely monitoring the coronavirus situation. It is still important to follow protection guidelines, for example,” emphasises Department Director Seija Meripaasi.

At service houses and senior centres, the duration and number of visitors of visits will no longer be restricted, and clients can be visited more than once a day.

Visits must be agreed upon in advance with the place of care, at least one day before the visit. Outdoor visits must also be agreed upon in advance.

Visitors are still required to wear face masks, keep a safe distance and take care of hand hygiene during visits. The same protection guidelines apply to outdoor visits as well.

You may only come for a visit when you are well.

At hospitals, the duration of visits is being extended to one hour. Visits must still be scheduled in advance, at least one day before the visit. Only two visitors are allowed at a time. Patients can be visited twice a day.

Outdoor visits do not have any time limits or restrictions on the number of visitors.

Visitors are required to wear face masks, take care of good hand hygiene and maintain a safe distance of two metres during both indoor and outdoor visits.

Two-hour visits are allowed for the family members of patients in terminal care. Two visitors are allowed at a time.

The new visiting instructions are valid as of 18 June until further notice.

More detailed visiting instructions for senior centres, service houses and hospitals are available on the City’s website.
