
Heka is a city-owned housing company that owns over 50,000 state-subsidised apartments throughout Helsinki. Each year, the City of Helsinki allocates between 3,000 and 4,000 low-rent housing units to applicants showing the greatest need.
Newly renovated apartments will be completed in Kurkisuontie 2 in the end of June. The estimated completion time will be 30 June. You can already apply for the apartments and they will be available until all the apartments are rented out.

Kurkisuontie 2 has 104 apartments with sizes ranging from 40 square meter one-room apartments to almost 100 square meter family apartments. Most of the apartments have 2 or 3 rooms. Many apartments have a balcony, and some of the ground floor apartments have their own yard.
The buildings have four shared saunas, a laundry and drying room, a club room and various storage spaces. Smoking is prohibited in Kurkisuontie 2.
In the renovation the apartments and their fixtures are being renewed, technical building services are being updated and the residents' shared facilities, building facades and yard areas are being refurbished.
Kurkisuontie 2 is located in the Kurkimäki area of Mellunkylä in Eastern Helsinki. The area has a lot of green spaces as well as many parks, daycares and schools. Buses to Helsinki city center and Kontula depart almost from the front door. Most shops and services are located in Kontula, which also hosts diverse cultural events.
There is a daycare located within Kurkisuontie 2 in its own building.
