Associations and foundations operating in Helsinki can apply for a grant for activities supporting the integration of people from Ukraine. The application period begins on 19 April 2022 and ends on 6 May 2022 at 16.00.

Grant decisions will be made during May and June. The grants must be used by the end of 2022.

In addition to registered associations and foundations, grants may also be awarded to new actors if the association has been entered in the Finnish Register of Associations or Foundations or has verifiably filed a notification for registration.

What kind of activities are eligible for a grant?

The grants will be allocated to activities in Helsinki supporting the well-being, functional capacity and integration of people arriving to Finland from Ukraine due to the war.

Emphasis will be placed on activities that strengthen the formation of social relations and everyday stability for Ukrainians in Finland. Volunteer and peer activities are important.

The projects applying for a grant must promote one or more of the following objectives:

  • Supporting the well-being, functional capacity and integration of those fleeing the war in Ukraine. Knowledge of the Ukrainian language is considered an advantage in support activities.
  • Supporting the formation of social relations in the Finnish society for people who have arrived in Finland due to the war in Ukraine by means of, for example, arranging meeting place activities.
  • Supporting the integration of those arriving in Finland due to the war in Ukraine through multidisciplinary cooperation.
  • Supporting those who have arrived in Finland due to the war through peer and volunteer activities.

The projects applying for a grant must have a self-financing share. This may also include the use of volunteers. The grants are discretionary.
