The Diabetes Centre’s telephone number and opening hours for clients remain unchanged. Clients will be served by the same familiar staff as before.
“We can now serve our clients living in different parts of Helsinki more equally,” says Chief Physician of the Diabetes Centre Hanna Paatela, commenting on the change.
“In future, we will also have a location in western Helsinki on Paciuksenkatu, in addition to our familiar Herttoniemi location,” Paatela continues.
Clients of the Diabetes Centre do not need to do anything at this stage. Clients will continue to be invited to appointments in the usual way, in accordance with their treatment plan. You can become a client of the Diabetes Centre via a referral from a doctor, for example from a health station or HUS.
For some clients, the address of their care facility will change. You should check your care facility from your appointment letter, which you can find in the Maisa client portal, the suomi.fi service or a letter sent to your home.
The Helsinki Diabetes Centre treats patients with type 1 diabetes and patients with type 2 diabetes who need specialised health care. The treatment of patients currently under HUS’s care will continue at HUS.
