The Forest Nature Trail is marked in the terrain with orange cone symbols. The nature trail has 12 colourful information boards, which describe the Uutela forest and the diversity of forest nature.

The Forest Nature Trail is shaped like a ring, which means that you can join it from many different directions, such as from the Uutelantie road or at the Nuottaniemi cooking shelter. The nature trail runs along a forest path covered with rock dust, and it contains some elevation differences. The trail has no lighting or winter maintenance.

Guidance on the Uusimaa nature reserves will be supplemented

The Herptile Trail, which provides information about reptiles and amphibians, was opened in Särkkäniemi this spring. The city aims to mark a third informative nature trail in the terrain in 2024. Marked trails make it easier to travel in nature, and they guide movement in delicate nature reserves. Next year, the Uutela nature reserves will receive new information boards with maps. The boards will provide information about nature conservation and nature services in the area.

The cone-marked posts of the old nature trail will be removed from the terrain. Some of the subjects marked by the cones are no longer be detectable. The new nature trails and physical information boards make knowledge more accessible to all outdoor enthusiasts. In addition to the nature trails, the overall guidance in the Uutela outdoor recreation area needs updating. The start date of the work is not yet known.
