Heka is a city-owned housing company that owns over 50,000 state-subsidised apartments throughout Helsinki. Each year, the City of Helsinki allocates between 3,000 and 4,000 low-rent housing units to applicants showing the greatest need. Heka apartments do not charge security deposit, and leases are generally for an indefinite period.
An apartment in the Kontula artists’ house will be available from 1 August. The apartment is a 73 square meter three room apartment. The rent is 1005,11 euros/month. The apartment has a balcony and a walk-in closet. The building has an elevator.
Working space for artists is located next to the building. You can rent a working space from The Finnish Artists’ Studio Foundation. Residents of the artists’ house are prioritized in renting the spaces when they are available.
We will ask applicants to provide a CV or other proof of working as an artist. Same selection criteria apply than for other Heka apartments (for example, income and wealth limits).
You can add the apartment to your application by selecting the following search criteria:
- Area: East Helsinki
- Residential area: Kontula
- Type of building: Apartment
- Apartment type: 3 rm
- Additional wishes: Artist apartment
After selecting the criteria, please press “Search for free apartments” and add the apartment to your application. If you want to only apply for this apartment, please write it in the additional details of the application. You can also add the apartment to your application on our marketing site.
