Clubs and hobbies at schools

We provide free hobbies and club activities at our schools, both through the Finnish Model for Leisure Activities and as the school’s club activities. In addition, schools may also have clubs and hobbies organised by third-party operators, which are subject to a participation fee.

Meaningful and high-quality hobbies increase the wellbeing of children and young people. Helsinki wants to give children and young people the opportunity to have a fun hobby, where they can enjoy activities safely together with their peers.

The schools’ own clubs and the activities based on the Finnish Model for Leisure Activities are free of charge for the pupils, and the pupils participating in these activities are insured.

Schools may also have clubs and hobbies organised by third-party operators, which are subject to a participation fee. The pupils are insured by the organiser.

The clubs and activities will be organised if there are enough participants in the group.

I’ve been wanting to climb for a long time, and it’s nice to practice new things. It’s a fun hobby to do after school and there are nice people there!
