Why should I join the Helsingin tekijät network?

  • You will receive up-to-date information on developments in Helsinki’s tourism, events and restaurant sector.
  • You will find new contacts and opportunities for collaboration with operators of all sizes.
  • You can participate in training courses, workshops, themed groups and networking events.
  • You can make use of statistical and research data to develop your business.
  • You will have the opportunity to be involved in Helsinki’s international B2B sales and marketing initiatives.

What benefits does Helsingin tekijät network offer its members?

Every year, we organise three high-quality networking events for our partners, where you can listen to talks by experts, receive up-to-date information, take part in discussions and workshops and meet a wide range of companies and organisations from the tourism, event and restaurant sectors.

We also organise morning coffee sessions on Teams for the network every other Wednesday. During the morning coffee sessions, we discuss topical issues and also allow time for our partners to share their own perspectives and examples.

The network’s 11 different thematic groups offer the opportunity to explore sector-specific topics in depth, promote concrete measures, share expertise and learn from one another. As a rule, the thematic groups meet twice a year.

Partners will also receive an invitation to the annual Helsinki Travel Seminar, which brings together the entire tourism industry.

The network has its own digital workspace, which serves as its main channel of communication. In the workspace, we share up-to-date information and materials, network and bring together the expertise of both our partners and the City organisation. Additionally, the workspace compiles statistics and research data on tourism and events into a format that is easy to use.

Network partners are given priority in Helsinki’s international B2B sales and marketing activities, as well as when planning programmes for visits by international tour operators, media representatives and influencers. This offers partners valuable opportunities to raise their profile as part of Helsinki’s international tourism and events offering.

Partners have the opportunity to attend a company- or organisation-specific sparring session with experts from the City of Helsinki’s Tourism and Destination Management Unit. The session can focus on a topic chosen by the partner and help identify specific areas for improvement, for example.

The network gives you access to up-to-date information on the tourism, event and restaurant sectors, as well as the latest statistics and research on tourism and events. All partners have the opportunity to obtain access to the extensive data available in DataLokki – Helsinki Destination Insights.(Link leads to external service) DataLokki provides information such as data on major events, flight and cruise booking forecasts, and tourism industry statistics, such as visitor numbers to Helsinki's main attractions and accommodation and mobility statistics.

We organise a wide range of training courses and workshops for our network partners, offering practical support for developing their business. Throughout the year, we also organise a number of visits to our partners’ sites and services. These visits raise awareness of the partners’ services among other members of the network, strengthen cooperation and may lead to new joint initiatives.

At Helsinki Tourist Information, partners have the opportunity to gain visibility through brochures and on the Tourist Information Office’s digital screens. In addition to this, partners can familiarise the staff of the Tourist Information Office with their own services and products, so that the staff can provide recommendations to tourists as naturally and knowledgeably as possible.
