Harakka Island is just a few minutes' boat ride from Kaivopuisto, by the open sea and surrounded by delicate archipelago nature. The three-storey main building on the island – Artists’ House – will soon have workspaces available for rent. These rooms are rented primarily to visual artists and artisans in Helsinki. The lease will be for five years from August 2026 onwards, subject to the agreement.

The studios range in size from 13 m² to 40 m². The rooms rent for €7.25/m² and some of them are rented together in pairs. The island can be reached by a connection ferry that is subject to a fee.

If you are interested in renting a workspace, please send your online application by Monday 15 June 2026 at 16.00.

Artists' House auditorium and meeting room available for booking through Varaamo Service

The auditorium and meeting room of the Artists' House can be reserved during the summer season through the City of Helsinki's reservation booking system Varaamo. The spaces can be booked for up to three hours at a time from Monday to Thursday.

The facilities are suitable for meetings and occasional hobbyist and group activities, for example. Private or commercial events are subject to a space rental fee. However, the facilities are free of charge e.g. for registered associations and organisations in Helsinki and for voluntary civic and group activities.

When booking a space, please keep in mind that Harakka is an island destination, and there is a charge for the ferry service to the island. The reserved spaces are not accessible to all.
