Over the past year, Kulttuuripankki has grown into a joint online service for 14 Finnish regions, which raises the profile of arts and culture professionals and makes their services available for purchase. The service enhances employment opportunities for professionals in the creative industries and makes it easier to find and purchase artistic and cultural services, including in Helsinki. In line with Helsinki’s City Strategy 2025–29, the City recognises that art and culture nurture Helsinki’s vitality and promote e.g. the wellbeing of children and young people.
The Culture Bank allows professionals to showcase their expertise, develop their services into marketable offerings and reach new customers. At the same time, the service makes it easier for customers to find performers, workshops or event professionals for their events, both within their own region and across regional boundaries.
“The Culture Bank helps professionals in the arts and culture to showcase their expertise. We want to make it easier for them to find new customers and partners, while also supporting the development of service offerings and entrepreneurial skills,” says Eerika Lehtinen, national coordinator of the Culture Bank.
Based on exceptionally extensive regional collaboration
Helsinki has been promoting use and awareness of the Culture Bank since the start of 2026.
“The Culture Bank is a helping hand for arts and culture professionals. Recognising that highlighting and promoting one’s own expertise takes a great deal of time and resources, we want to help creators gain a wider audience and create new kinds of job opportunities. To this end, we are helping to spread the word about the Culture Bank and the wonderful services and art content that the service provides access to,” says Salla Vallius, project planner and moderator for the Helsinki and Espoo area.
When customers can easily find suitable service providers and content in their region, the expertise of arts and culture professionals can become a greater part of the everyday lives, communities and events of an increasing number of Helsinki residents. Customers may include private individuals as well as municipalities, educational institutions, wellbeing services counties, associations, companies and other organisations.
Both providers and purchasers of artistic and cultural services can register as users of the Culture Bank free of charge.
