The aim is to overhaul the area in a manner that coordinates the needs of commercial, industrial and cultural activities with housing opportunities.
Pitäjänmäki is one of Helsinki’s most significant employment hubs, featuring more than 20,000 jobs located in the area. The planning will strengthen existing business activities and create opportunities for new ones. The area is home to roughly 2,500 residents. The aim is to increase housing, which will bring more services and life to the area after workdays as well.
The aim is to draw up the local master plan during the 2025–2029 council term. The plan draft will be finalised in 2027 and the plan proposal in 2028. Detailed planning may partially begin already in the plan drafting phase.
Participation and assessment plan available for viewing and commenting
The participation and evaluation plan (PEP) details why the local master plan is drawn up, how planning progresses and at what stage it can be influenced.

Information and views on the current state and future of Pitäjänmäki to be gathered via a map survey
