The Uusix Market opens on 10 September at 12.00 at Kyläsaarenkatu 8 J. On the opening day, the market will be open from 12.00–18.00. Thereafter, regular opening hours will be Monday–Friday from 9.00–15.45. The market houses the Uusix Shop, the Fillari-myymälä bike shop, the PC Shop and a furniture shop. Product selection varies depending on availability.

Handmade and recycled products

The Uusix Shop sells interior design items, practical household goods, gifts, jewellery and accessories made in the adult work activities. Most products are crafted from recycled or surplus materials. Each unique item reflects inventiveness, craftsmanship and the joy of learning.

The Fillari-myymälä bike shop sells recycled and refurbished bicycles, mostly recovered from Heka’s cleaned-up bike sheds. Spare parts are also available for those who enjoy repairing their own bikes.

At the PC Shop, clients can find laptops discarded by the City of Helsinki and refurbished at the Digipaja recycling centre. The shop also sells computer parts, such as monitors, cables and sometimes even printers.

The furniture shop offers items such as office chairs, desks, filing cabinets and lobby furniture, all discarded by different City divisions. The furniture is washed and refurbished as part of adult work activities.

All products at the Uusix Market are manufactured or repaired in the adult work activities. These activities are aimed at supporting long-term unemployed people who face challenges in entering the labour market. By shopping at the Uusix Market, you contribute to local social work and help make Helsinki more sustainable.
