The increased messiness of the Tattarisuo industrial area, including goods stored on streets and squares and cars parked incorrectly, has generated feedback from residents and made the area less safe and pleasant to use.
The intensive monitoring will focus on issues such as parking, littering and unauthorised storage as well as compliance with the terms of rental agreements to ensure that infringements do not endanger safety or damage the environment.
The City will intervene in cases of non-compliance and can impose fines on litterers or even terminate the lease of an offending operator if the deficiencies are not corrected.
Intensive monitoring will be carried out by the City of Helsinki's Parking Control, Environmental Supervision and Area Surveillance authorities in cooperation with the City's lessors.
