Musical gems of the Helmet libraries unearthed in a radio programme

Musical gems of the Helmet libraries unearthed in a radio programme. Helsinki City Library starts a collaboration with Roll FM.

Helsinki City Library will start a collaboration with volunteer radio channel Roll FM on 1 September 2021. The programme will include talk about topics both related and unrelated to music, the collections of Helmet libraries, gems from the Soundiholvi music storage and other tips for both daily life and festivities.

In the Kirjasto soikoon! programme every Wednesday at 12:00–13:00, various library employees get to present the music collections that belong to all residents of the Helmet area and share their passion for music – including pieces you may not have known you’ve missed.

“The goal is to share information about the libraries’ music services and events and also play the latest additions to and rarities from our audio collection on the radio,” says one of the creators of the idea, Information Specialist Jukka Halttunen from Arabianranta Library.

Roll FM (Link leads to external service)is available on 97.1 MHz and online at rollfm.fi. The first season of Kirjasto soikoon! will be broadcast from 1 September to 30 October 2021
